deer steward certification update

In response to interest expressed by our members, QDMA has scheduled three Deer Steward I certification courses and two Deer Steward II certification courses for 2009. This follows the successful second year for the REACH program's individual QDM certification process that takes interested QDMA members to the most advanced levels of deer management knowledge.

For each of the classes the QDMA will also award a high school junior or senior, or college student, interested in a career in wildlife management a scholarship to attend free of charge. Applicants for the scholarships should have a strong interest in wildlife conservation and the Quality Deer Management (QDM) philosophy. Applications are due by March 27, 2009. Deer Steward Level I
~ May 1-4 Felton, DE 
~ May 15-18  Columbia, SC
~ August 14-17  The Grigsby, Tallula, IL
